Myken vindstyrker - Stiv kuling

Smoked whisky, matured in 40-litre ex-sherry casks, on Oloroso, PX and Creamsherry

Tasting notes:

A little smoke on the aroma, but the explosion of smoke comes first in the mouth. Built up by a good fruity sweetness, characterized by dark, dried fruits such as figs and raisins. The smoke lingers on the aftertaste, but without dominating too much. The sweetness slowly fades into a hint of chilli.

The oak casks we use most extensively to mature whiskey in are ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.

Myken Vindstyrker is a series of 4 whiskeys stored in 40 liter casks, which have contained just bourbon and sherry. Two whiskeys are without smoke, and two with smoke. Then you can feel the difference between the different casks, and also between whiskey with and without smoke.
